Two Humboldt County residents have died from COVID-19, marking the 80e deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic. The staff of the Department’s Operations Center extend their condolences to the friends, relatives and caregivers of those who have died.

Two new hospitalizations were also reported, including a resident in his 50s and one in his 70s.

Thirty-two new cases of COVID-19 have been treated and confirmed in the county, bringing the total number of residents who tested positive to 7,578.

As of Tuesday, 73,532 county residents had been fully immunized, or 54.1 percent of the county’s total population. Almost 70 percent of the vaccine-eligible population aged 12 and over received at least one dose.

COVID-19 vaccines are available at public health clinics located in the county. Walk-in people are welcome or appointments can be made in advance at MyTurn.ca.gov. For instructions in English or Spanish on using My Turn, visit humboldtgov.org/VaccineInfo.

Pfizer is approved for persons 12 years of age and older, and Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are approved for persons 18 years of age and older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Full immunization protection is achieved two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a single dose vaccine.
