Two more residents of Saline County die of complications from COVID-19

(WSIL) – Southern Illinois Health Services are reporting 135 new cases of the virus on Saturday, November 21. Health officials are also saddened to confirm that two additional residents of Saline County and one resident of Jackson County have died.

Franklin County: 25

  • Women: Two teens, five in their twenties, one in their thirties, two in their forties, one in their fifties and four in their sixties.
  • Men: one under 10, one teenager, three in their twenties, one in their thirties, one in their forties, one in their fifties and two in their sixties.

To date, there have been 1,863 laboratory-confirmed positives in Franklin County for COVID-19, including 19 deaths. Of those positive cases, 899 have recovered.

Gallatin County: 2

  • Woman: one in her twenties
  • Male: one in his thirties

Gallatin County has a total of 201 lab-confirmed COVID-19 positives, including two deaths.

Jackson County: 34

  • Woman: Two under 10, eight in their twenties, five in their thirties, one in their forties, five in their fifties, four in their sixties and two in their sixties.
  • Male: one teenager, three in their twenties, one in their thirties and two in their forties.

The health department has announced the COVID-related death of an 80-year-old man. He said, “Her death strikes particularly near her home for the JCHD family. Our hearts are with her loved ones.”

This man marks the death of the county’s 31st resident.

Health officials are currently monitoring 414 active cases. To date, there have been 2,439. Of these positive cases, 1,994 people have been released from solitary confinement, including 32 on Saturday.

County of Saline: 15

  • Woman: one person under the age of 10, a teenager, in their thirties, in their forties, two in their fifties, one in their sixties, one in their 80s
  • Male: one teenager, two in their thirties, three in their fifties, one in their sixties

The Egyptian health department has been informed of two residents of Saline County who have died due to complications from the coronavirus. These additional deaths bring the county to 22 lives lost.

To date, Saline County has had a total of 1,112 laboratory-confirmed positives.

White County: 5

  • Woman: one in her fifties, one in her sixties
  • Male: one teenager, one in his thirties, one in his forties

Williamson County: 54

  • Girls: Two teenage girls, four in their twenties, five in their thirties, five in their forties, five in their fifties, five in their sixties, one in their sixties, three in their eighties and three in their nineties.
  • Men: Three teenagers, one in his twenties, one in his thirties, four in his forties, three in his fifties, four in his sixties and five in his sixties.

To date, there have been a total of 3,216 laboratory-confirmed positives in Williamson County, including 74 deaths. Of these positive cases, 1,662 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 11,891 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease on Saturday, including 127 additional deaths.

Currently, the IDPH reports a total of 646,286 cases, including 11,430 deaths statewide.
