Two nighttime shootings leave one dead, several injured – action news jax

Jacksonville, Florida – A person suffers fatal injuries as a result of gunfire in the Ortega area. JSO says this happened shortly after 12:30 a.m. on the northbound West Beltway near the Roosevelt Boulevard exit.

At least two occupants of two separate vehicles were shooting at each other when one was struck and taken to hospital. A second vehicle fled.

The Violent Crime Unit is still investigating and anyone with more information is urged to call JSO or Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.

A second shootout in the Regency area left one dead and at least one fatally injured. Witnesses told police they heard 10 to 15 gunshots coming from the Brookwood apartments near Monument Road just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

JFRD said an 18 to 20-year-old man died at the scene, while another man of the same age suffers from several life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Detectives scoured the area looking for suspects until the early hours of the morning. No suspicious information was disclosed by the police.
