In Funeral of the family A Madea by Tyler Perrya merry family reunion turns into a hilarious nightmare as Madea and the crew head out into Georgia's backcountry and unexpectedly plan funerals that may reveal sordid family secrets. Last October, it was revealed that this would be Perry's latest film starring his iconic Madea character.

Funeral of the family A Madea by Tyler Perry is the eighth movie in the franchise and will be Tilson's latest film released by Lionsgate. This is not the last thing we see from Perry, who however signed an exclusive deal with Viacom last year, which will require him to work on television, film and video content in the format abridged. Under the terms of this agreement, Perry will produce approximately 90 episodes of original drama and comic series for BET and other Viacom networks, and Viacom will have exclusive license rights to this programming. In addition, Viacom will have exclusive distribution rights to Perry's short video content. The partnership between Perry and the abbreviated video content will come into effect in May 2019, following the expiration of the exclusive agreement between Perry and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. The Viacom agreement will be extended until 2024.
