Filmmaker Tyler Perry reprimanded a New York actress this week after posting ads on two billboards during a waterfall to ask him to play a role in a TV show or movie.
Actress Racquel Bailey, who played a small role in "The Night Of" at HBO in 2016, stuck her face on two billboards in Atlanta's hometown of Perry, and sent a message to filmmaker.
"Watch out, Mr. Perry, Racquel Bailey is your next big lady," reads the billboards.
Perry responded to the stunt in a Facebook message Wednesday, writing that it was not the first time anyone had done it – and that it was not the way to grab his attention.
"If you're looking for a role in one of my shows. Please, DO NOT DO THIS, SAVE MONEY !! He wrote in the article.
"This is the third time anyone has done it. PLEASE STOP! Auditioning is FREE !! I'm sure you can use this money for a better purpose, "he added.
"I love that you want to work with me and I love you investing in you. But when you do that sort of thing, my team is on alert and is watching you from the side, "said Perry in the Facebook article.
Bailey responded to his message, thanking him for posting on the bulletin board and saying that it was a "leap of faith" in his attempt to be initiated by him.
"It was an act of faith, and with faith you will never know where it will take you or whether it will work," wrote Bailey.
"Sometimes we have to break the norm and do something unconventional. Everyone will not agree or think it's a good idea. This is my chance! She added.
