Tyler Posey shares cryptic teaser when it appears he is reprising Teen Wolf series role for the film

Tyler Posey launched his Instagram page this Friday to share a cryptic teaser as it appeared he was reprising his role as Teen Wolf for a new movie.

The 29-year-old played the title role in the Teen Wolf television series, which was itself based on a 1985 film.

And at the end of this week, word broke in Variety that series creator Jeff Davis was reuniting with Tyler for a Paramount Plus movie based on the series.

In the teaser Tyler posted on Instagram, a crawl read, “A WOLF SCREAMS TO REPORT ITS LOCATION TO THE REST OF THE BEST.”

Screenshots then began appearing on the screen of a series of fan tweets begging for a revival of the television series, which ran from 2011 to 2017.

“WE HEARD YOUR HOWLING,” said another crawl, “AND WE ARE RETURNING,” to the sound of menacing roars in the background.

Fans are then treated to the sight of the 1980 blue Jeep CJ5 driven by Teen Wolf’s best friend Stiles Stilinski, played by Dylan O’Brien.

The car sits in the dark, except when it is occasionally lit by a pale blue light flashing in a menacing shot – interspersed with the roar of the werewolf himself.

Based on Tyler’s Instagram post, he’s obviously returning to his old role, and Variety reports that other actors on the show are negotiating their return.

The film is part of Jeff’s multi-year deal with MTV Entertainment Studios involving a live-action cover of the cartoon series Aeon Flux.

He will also do a werewolf show unrelated to Teen Wolf but adapted instead of the Wolf Pack series by Canadian author Edo Van Belkom.

Teen Wolf began life as a romantic comedy in 1985 with Michael J. Fox and went on to hit the box office despite a lukewarm critical response.

A sequel and animated show followed the original film – but the franchise took a more dramatic turn with the MTV show starring Tyler.
