- Medical conditions such as asplenia and chronic kidney disease, which may be associated with varying degrees of immune deficiency
- You have received active cancer treatment for tumors or cancer of the blood
- You have had an organ transplant and are taking medicines to suppress the immune system
- Have had a stem cell transplant within the past two years or are taking medicines to suppress the immune system
- Moderate or severe primary immune deficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome or Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection
- Active treatment with high dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress the immune response
Talk to your healthcare provider about your condition and if an extra dose is right for you.
