Cardiologists have discovered that vitamin D present in the human body is a powerful factor in cardiovascular health and its ability to withstand great efforts for a long time.
"Our study showed that a large amount of vitamin D in the body is statistically associated with long-term stress," said Amr Marwan, of the University of Virginia, in an article in the EJPC journal. "Everyone knows that this vitamin has a beneficial effect on the bones and the heart, and everyone must maintain their body level by taking nutritional supplements or simply by exposing themselves to the sun."
Marwan and his colleagues discovered a new positive feature of vitamin D, as a result of the health and fitness of 2,000 people who participated in the NHANES project in the first decade of the 21st century. The project included periodic examinations and tests and informed doctors of their diet, physical activity and bad habits. This complete information helped determine how vitamin D affects health.
The researchers found that the higher the proportion of this vitamin in the body, the higher the person was. However, scientists say that it does not mean eating fish oil and other supplements containing vitamin D in large quantities, because when you exceed the required limit, your body has disorders that eliminate all the benefits. Cardiologists therefore plan to calculate the ideal amount of vitamin D for the body to improve its tolerance to effort without causing side effects.
