The UAE seeks to strengthen the preventive aspect and reduce the rate of lifestyle-related diseases, such as diabetes and other diseases, in order to lead a healthy life and long life for the population of the country. country.

The Ministry of Health and Community Development is working to combat diabetes in accordance with a plan based on three fundamental pillars: increasing the therapeutic capacity of medical staff, supporting initiatives initiated by the Ministry and local health authorities, and focus on patient management and self-care tools.

According to figures from the World Diabetes Federation, the incidence of the disease has decreased significantly, with a number of about 740,000 people infected in 2017, while the estimated number of people likely or predisposed to the disease would be about 920,000.
