NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – A single study of the side effects of energy drinks on the arteries and veins has shown that consuming a pack of energy drinks damages the blood vessels. In the United States (aged 12 to 17), one-third of adolescents consume energy drinks and most drinkers are in the 18 to 34 age group.

According to the study, an experiment involving non-smokers aged 20 to 44 years in good health was forced to drink energy and undergo a test to measure the duration of blood flow in the arteries.

When the test was completed 90 minutes after drinking the drink, the blood flow was negatively affected from 5.1 to 2.8!

According to the results of the study presented to the American Heart Association, eating two servings of energy drinks a day harms the health of the heart.

The researchers did not decide in the study's findings whether the consumption of energy drinks was harmful to health, but they viewed these findings as an invitation to investigate this issue.
