Sell a wheelchair used by Sitvin Hawking for around £ 300,000 ($ 393,000), while a copy of the late physicist's Ph.D. thesis is sold for £ 585,000 ($ 767,000) when of an online auction in London.
The wheelchair, used by Hawking after being paralyzed by a motor neuron disease, was auctioned at Christie's on a disc while it was supposed to sell for between £ 10,000 and £ 15,000.
The sale of the Chair is for the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the Society of Motor Neuroscience.
A copy of Hawking's Ph.D. dissertation, prepared in 1965 on the origin of the universe, was sold for £ 58,000, three times more than pre-sales estimates, when the auction which ended Thursday.
Hawking died in March of 76 years after doctors told him that he would live only a few years after being diagnosed with motor neuron at the age of 22.
