Stephen Hawking's chair is sold for $ 393,000

The Christie auction house sold Thursday the wheelchair of the late physicist Stephen Hawking at $ 393,000, while his doctoral thesis sold twice as much.
Christiez said the chair was one of the first used by the late world after its helplessness.

Proceeds from the sale of the chair will go to two charities, the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the Society of Motor Neuroscience.
