Stephen Hawking's wheelchair was sold for $ 393,000 at auction.

The wheelchair of the late physicist Stephen Hawking was auctioned for 296,750 pounds ($ 393,000), while his doctoral dissertation was sold twice as much, said Christie's. Christiez said the chair was one of the first used by the late world after its helplessness.
Hawking used this chair from the late '80s until the mid' 90s, before she could no longer use her hands to guide her.
Proceeds from the sale of the chair will go to two charities, the Stephen Hawking Foundation and the Society of Motor Neuroscience.
