As the seasons go by, some people have runny noses as a result of an influenza or a cold and try to remove the thick mucus to open the airways, according to the website "Russia Today".

But doctors warned that the method of removing mucus, or so-called seaming process, increased the symptoms associated with colds and caused other health problems.

The sensation of nasal obstruction is certainly due to the accumulation of mucus, but it is often the sign of swelling and inflammation of the nasal openings.

"Sewing is not good, it hurts the nose and leads to sinus infection, which can cause discomfort and make the patient more susceptible to sinusitis," said Lucy Belton.
