Uber now offers a "silent mode" option for its luxury service

Uber is rolling out a slew of new features for its higher-priced luxury car service, Uber Black, including a "silent car" mode for riders who want to discourage talkative drivers. This is the first upgrade of the high-end service of the giant hail-run for several years.

In addition to the silent mode, Uber drivers can also use the app to ask for help for their luggage or to communicate their favorite temperature to the driver. They may also ask for extra time before getting in the car without incurring late pickup fees, and will be able to speak directly to a customer service representative in case of a problem. Runners can also select "No preference" for any of these options.

Normally, most of these requests can be handled easily by addressing your driver as a human, but why bother when technology can do it for you?

Uber Black and Uber Black SUV are the company's high-end automotive services that place bikers in high-end vehicles. Rates are usually 100% more expensive than Uber X and 200% more expensive than Uber Pool. Uber Black drivers must be registered and insured in the trade and, in some markets, they must maintain a minimum score in order to continue driving for the service.

Uber was originally founded as a luxury car service that can be booked via a smartphone app. Only later did the company introduce Uber X, it's an inexpensive option that eventually pushed Uber to become a household name.
