ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) – Uber has suspended service at Ontario's international airport in southern California due to rising costs.

The mobile phone company ceased operations in Ontario one minute after midnight Friday.

According to the San Bernardino Sun, the airport east of Los Angeles recently started charging Uber and its app-based competitors $ 4 for pick-up and $ 4 for a drop off.

Uber called the charges unfair because taxis and limos are charged $ 3.

Last month, Ontario declared in a statement that Lyft, Uber's main competitor, would continue to operate at the airport.
