Ubisoft delayed two of its big 2021 games on Friday, pushing Tom clancy’s rainbow six Extraction until January 2022, and Republic of the Cavaliers eight weeks, from September 2 to October 28.

Rainbow Six Extraction, the Rainbow Six-operators-versus-alien-infestation shooter that was previously known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, was originally scheduled to launch on September 16. Ubisoft communicated that date just over a month ago, but said in an update released on Friday that the game needs more time.

Extract from Ubisoft’s statement:

Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to provide a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, each mission is set as a tense and challenging experience in which you will lead Rainbow Six’s elite operators in a fight against a deadly and evolving alien threat.

We take the opportunity to take the extra time to bring this vision to life as it deserves in January 2022. We are confident that this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative and exciting experience we set out to create, and one that you aspire to play.

The team that makes Republic of the Cavaliers, Ubisoft’s interdisciplinary extreme sports racer, said he also needed more time to polish this game:

To make sure we can deliver the best game for all players, we’ve made the tough decision to postpone our September 2 release date to October 28. This will give us more time to polish the experience and give you another chance to get started. prior to launch and provide feedback.

Republic of the Cavaliers was first announced in September 2020 and was scheduled to launch in February 2021. Ubisoft delayed the game indefinitely in January, but then opted for a September 2021 launch.

Both Rainbow Six Extraction and Republic of the Cavaliers are intended for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, with streaming versions coming to Amazon Luna and Google Stadia.
