DENVER (CBS4) – Several viewers called the CBS4 newsroom Friday night after spotting dozens of lights above the Denver metro area. Before you get excited, no it’s not a UFO.
The trail of lights in the sky is actually a constellation of satellites called Starlink. SpaceX has started the project to provide high-speed broadband internet connection to remote locations.
SpaceX is a privately held U.S. aerospace manufacturer headquartered in Hawthorne, California. The company has launched hundreds of satellites into an orbit about 180 miles above Earth. Satellites can be seen by observers under clear and dark skies.
