UK AIDS drama is coming to HBO Max

A group of teenagers move to London in search of sexual freedom, then the epidemic hits. It’s a sin, the new British miniseries by Russell T. Davies – from Years and years and the original UK Queer As Folk – mixes the kind of ’80s nostalgia that is all too common on television today with the reality of the AIDS crisis. The five-episode miniseries recently debuted on Channel 4 in the UK and arrives on HBO Max (the home of many good UK imports) simultaneously on February 18. Already hailed by rave reviews across the pond, It’s a sin stars Olly Alexander as Ritchie, who moves in with a group of young gays, played by Omari Douglas, Callum Scott Howells and Nathaniel Curtis, and their best friend, played by Lydia West. The rest of the cast include Neil Patrick Harris, Stephen Fry, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Shaun Dooley and the great Keeley Hawes. Grab the Pet Shop Boys and start dancing or crying, or probably both.
