Chancellor and Carol Christ and Catherine Koshland, Executive Vice-Chancellor and Acting Provost, sent the following message to the campus community on Wednesday:
As we enter our second full week of in-person instruction, we write to you to take stock of how things are going and to provide important updates and reminders.
Please read this post carefully as our continued ability to offer in-person instruction depends on all members of our community working together to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Pay attention to social gatherings
The good news is that we have little or no evidence of further transmission of the virus in the classroom. The bad news is that we have seen a slight increase in cases of students linked to off-campus social gatherings.
We encourage you to think about the activities you participate in and avoid the riskier ones. As a reminder, the outside is better than the inside, small gatherings are better than large gatherings and face covers are better than no face covers.
Trial
Trial is free and available to all students, faculty and staff. Please take advantage of this important resource.
Campus access conditions
You must have authorization Campus access badge be on campus. It means to complete the Daily symptom screening every day you will be on campus. To help you remember, you can now add daily reminders to your calendar.
Other updates
The campus coronavirus site is constantly updated. Here are some recent highlights:
- Instructor orientation: New Q&A are added regularly, including Q&A for ISGs.
- Contacts search: A new page explaining what to expect from exposure notifications and contact tracing.
Thank you in advance for doing your part to ensure the safety and health of our campus. We are delighted to see the campus bustling with activity again and we ask for your help to keep the in-person activities going.
