Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer’s apology on Monday for an intimate exchange with a woman at a bar might not be enough, according to a current player on his team and a former NFL executive.

“Numerous closed-door meetings have taken place over the past two days in the football offices” and none of them involve the team’s next opponent, wrote front office veteran Michael Lombardi, citing two anonymous sources from Jacksonville. “Stay tuned. It could get ugly. “

Lombardi later confirmed a sports attorney’s suggestion in a tweet that the executives were discussing the clauses in Meyer’s contract.

An anonymous Jaguars player told the Michael Silver of the NFL Network that Meyer had lost all credibility and that players were very skeptical that the woman in the videos was a stranger, as Meyer claimed. “I don’t know how it’s going to work,” the player told Silver.

Meyer apologized on Monday for an embarrassing video that went viral over the weekend in which a the woman appeared to grind her rear into his crotch. A second clip from another overwhelming angle later emerged, showing Meyer touching her in a sensitive area.

“I just apologized to the team for being a distraction,” Meyer said, according to USA Today. “It’s stupid. I explained everything that happened and I shouldn’t have put myself in this position.

Meyer, who is married, admitted his family were “upset” by the recordings.

Meyer made the unusual decision to return to Florida separately from the squad following the Jaguars’ loss to Cincinnati, saying he wanted to spend time with his grandchildren. Meyer previously coached at Ohio State and has roots in the state.

“There was a large group next to the restaurant,” said Meyer, according to Score. “They wanted me to come and take pictures, and I did. (They) tried to pull me onto the dance floor, get the hell out of it, but I should have left.

Meyer said Jaguar owner Shad Khan was “very supportive”. But on Tuesday, Khan called Meyer’s driving “Inexcusable” in a statement.

Meyer may not have a lot of slack. His team are 0-4 in their first season. And his first draft pick, Trevor Lawrence, is in trouble.
