In the annual US News & World Report ranking released today, Columbus State University remains among the top-ranked public and regional universities in the South.

The publication’s ranking for 2022 places CSU 35th among the best regional public universities in the South. The ranking examines factors such as tuition fees, graduation rates, and faculty resources. The university is also listed at No. 74 in its global list of “Best Regional Universities in the South”.

“Maintaining a presence on US News’ ‘Best Colleges’ list is a testament to the commitment of our faculty and staff to cultivating creativity and reinventing education by discovering new ways to connect and to inspire our students, ”said CSU President Chris Markwood.

“The tremendous collaboration that is being established between CSU and our community, industry and workforce development partners is equally important to our success,” added Markwood. “Their ideas enrich our students’ classroom learning, and the experience they provide to our students through internships and the like sets our students apart when they graduate. ”

As a regional university in the South, CSU ranked 46th in best performance in social mobility, up one position from last year’s ranking. The social mobility ranking measures how well schools have graduated students who have received federal Pell Grants. Recipients of the Pell Grant typically come from households with a family income of less than $ 50,000 per year.

Columbus State offers over 90 undergraduate and graduate degree options, including nationally recognized programs in the arts, education, business, and nursing. In all programs and majors, Columbus State’s curriculum is grounded in academic excellence and creativity. Students are challenged to think outside of the box, turn ideas into innovations, and build careers for today’s global economy. CSU is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and specialist education degrees, as well as a doctorate.
