Porsche has not even finished with the new variants of the current 911, the 991 generation, but the car manufacturer is already engaged in the development of new variants for the successor of the car, the 992.

The latest spy and video plans show an early tester for the new 911 GT3. The images follow prototype plans for the Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet, as well as the Turbo.

We know that this latest prototype is intended for the GT3 because of signature elements, such as the two exhaust tips mounted at the center of the rear fairing, as well as the center locking wheels and the huge discs of carbon-ceramic brake. The prototype also includes the wide 992 generation design, which will also be used on AWD models.

We can also see that the front fairing is wider than that of the Carrera base prototypes, while the integrated rear wing shown here should give way to a fixed wing mounted on more advanced prototype pillars.

The current GT3 is handling a 4.0-liter flat-six developing 500 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque and happily turning to a dizzying red line at 9000 rpm, and we expect a similar configuration for the new model.

According to rumors, Porsche could switch to supercharged power to improve the performance of the 911 variant centered on the runway, but the video above showing a prototype tested in Monza, Italy, suggests that a suction motor natural will remain.

The single-gearbox should be a seven-speed dual-clutch unit, although Porsche can appease manual fans by offering a gear shift available at any given time, with the current GT3's Touring option , which offers a six-speed manual transmission.

Another GT3 Cup race variant and a more hardcore GT3 RS will also be available at some point.

The 911 generation 911 Carrera form is expected to debut by the end of this year. The GT3 is expected to make an appearance in early 2020 before arriving in the showrooms later this year as a 2021 model.
