& # 39; Far Cry 2 & # 39; is 10 years old today

On October 21st, 10 years ago, Ubisoft released the second installment of the main line Far cry series, Far Cry 2.

Even to this day, the technology behind the open world shooter is impressive.

The game had its critics though. On the one hand, some fans felt scorched by the new direction taken while others found flaws in his writing and in some of his gaming systems.

Far Cry 2 It was a technical feat and impressive design for his time. And that was the realism of the game that many liked, even though some thought he was going a little too far and was limited on the oppressive and boring side.

The players particularly challenged the game's malaria system, which forced them every 40 minutes in real time to take a red pill to fight the deadly effects of the disease. At the time, I thought this feature was good, but in hindsight, it was a bit tedious.

Nevertheless, while Far Cry 3 universally holds the honor as the best game in the series, Far Cry 2 is a second favorite for many. To this day, he has a very hardcore audience, who quickly pointed out the many ways he's undeniably superior to the Far Cry 5.
