Monitor The hero of the FPS series Soldier: 76 is Francis, a detail until then unknown, revealed by the game's main editor.

Michael Chu, editor-in-chief for Eve, answered the question of a player on Twitter (via PCGamesN) who asked him what the soldier's dog tags had printed on the character's middle name. Chu answered to give an answer in one word without explanation to say that the middle name of Soldier: 76 is indeed Francis.

So far, the only known information on the hero's name was that it was John "Jack" Morrison, but players can now refer to the hero by his real full name John Francis Morrison. The question of how Blizzard landed on this name while seeing how the rest of Soldier: the name of 76 is inspired by other well-known personalities. Created by Monitor Creative Director Chris Metzen, the character's name was inspired by John Wayne and Jim Morrison. The question is, where does this inspiration from Francis come from if there was a story behind the name?

While there is a story for each of Monitor Heroes who mix them with other characters and events of the tradition of the game, Chu did not separate more information other than the middle name of Soldier. Another Twitter user tried his luck by pushing Chu, a hero with a mechanical arm, onto McCree's lost arm, but little information revealed how he had lost it. It is thought that there is a connection with Torbjorn in the history of the heroes, but Chu does not let any of this information escape us.

Especially all Eve the heroes have some sort of real name, or at least another name, but looking at the other hero's names, Soldier: 76 seems to be one of the few to have his full name. Lucio, the DJ support hero who heals his teammates and speeds them up with his music, has also seen his full name, but all the others seem to have only one first and last name without a middle name.

John Francis Morrison did not announce the news recently, except for the revelation of his middle name with Soldier: 76 did not make a splash in the PTR game update, but Torbjorn certainly detailed it right here.
