Last month, Sega gloriously brought back his Shenmue franchise with the return of the first two games in the series for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. And while some players feel they have not aged well, the community was pleased to see Ryo and his company return for the most part. And now, Sega could bring it on another platform.
Earlier this month, a survey surfaced We ask fans what games they want to see on the Nintendo Switch. While Radio Jet Set series tops the list of most wanted, Shenmue I and II was right behind – and Sega could make it a reality as soon as possible.
During the Tokyo Game Show at the beginning of the month, 4Gamer has maintained with localization producer Eigo Kasahara and localization director Hiroji Noguchi about the possibility of Shenmue upcoming saga on Nintendo Switch. They did not confirm anything for the upcoming match, but they did not seem to deny it either.
When 4Gamer asked him what the opportunity was, here are the answers they gave:
Noguchi: The fans really showed their love for Shenmue – and for that, I really appreciate them. Personally, I think it would be nice if you could play Shenmue on the Switch anywhere …
Kasahara: Whether or not we can do something like that, we take into account the opinions of the fans. It may take a little time to follow through, but it's definitely something I want to look at.
So, again, nothing is frozen with respect to Shenmue come to Switch, but it seems that Sega might be keen on the idea. And then, we see all sorts of surprises from society lately. A few days ago, they announced that Virtua Racing was back on the switchAfter several years touring the arcade circuit and choosing the Sega lounge consoles.
We will see what happens. For now, Sega certainly has a lot to do with other classics, including the next Sega Ages games like Star Phantasy and Space Harrier, as well as the racing game Team Sonic Racing.
We will keep you informed as soon as an official announcement has been made!
