3rd generation Chromecast sold early by Best Buy

Here is an interesting reading for the day. the third generation Chromecast will not be available until Oct. 9, but it looks like someone could get their hands on it early thanks to a Best Buy employee who sold the device before it was released.

A Reddit user created a post showing Google's latest Chromecast device and declaring that it had bought it too early. The user also explained what happened and how he was able to get the device.

I went to Best Buy earlier to buy a Chromecast for my new TV, then I noticed that the packaging and design were different from my first TV. I thought it was just an update of the design by taking queues from the Chromecast Ultra. Then, when I was at the checkout, they could not scan the article because it was not in the system yet because the release date was October 9 (same day as the day before). Google event 2018) but I guess they published it. too early. But as I already had it in hand and at the same price as the second generation Chromecast, they let me take it under the old SKU.

Once installed at home and compared to my 2nd generation Chromecast, it seems a little thicker. The top is no longer brilliant and the Chrome logo has been replaced by the g Google logo. Still micro-USB (sad to the right). They removed the magnetic HDMI connector on the tip and base of the Chromecast, which is a disappointment.

It is not clear why the Best Buy employee even tried to sell the third-generation device when it did not resonate in the system and ignored it, but if it were discovered that there would be disastrous consequences for this employee. As for the person who owns the new Chromecast, he can not yet use it because the Google Home app has not been updated to support the streaming device.

What we know so far about this new Chromcast is that it will support Bluetooth and will have faster Wi-Fi connections. Micro-USB will still be used instead of USB-C and the third-generation Chromecast will have a matte appearance rather than a brilliant design like the second generation Chromecast.
