Genuine Xiaomi Mi AirDots wireless headphones are affordable and out of range

Perhaps Apple deserves credit for popularizing the "real" existing market, giving rise to new products and imitations. Chinese manufacturers are renowned for these and one would expect someone like Xiaomi to copy these designs and products again. The Chinese company has gone beyond this inclination and, even if its new Mi AirDots look like the AirPod, they are fortunately far from cheap clones. Although they are really cheap if you can get your hands on a pair.

While Huawei's FreeBuds are uncompromisingly similar to Apple's AirPods, Xioami's strategy is simply to join the stronger brand with its slightly confusing name. In terms of design, however, the AirDots look more like traditional Bluetooth headset, without a stem left hanging on the outside of your ear.

Functionally, the AirDots (no pun intended) are pretty basic. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 for energy-efficient audio streaming and a 7.2mm dynamic driver to provide proper audio output. The battery life is only 4 hours of continuous use, allowing the charger to charge up to 12 hours.

The headsets have tactile surfaces to allow you to answer calls and control music. Or trigger a smart assistant, although this one is not yet known. Xiaomi, maybe.

Its main selling factor is its selling price. The Mi AirDots will be sold in China for 199 RMB, or about $ 29. Unfortunately, we do not have news of international availability yet, but Xiaomi has some scheduled events this week, so it could still happen.
