Touch does not work on your iPhone X? Apple has a fix for that

When the iPhone X came out last year, it ushered in a new look for Apple headsets. The company got rid of the home button, offered a new feature of unlocking Face ID backand used a new type of screen larger and richer called OLED for display.

It turns out that "some" of the new displays offered by Apple in the iPhone X featured a defective item that, when it failed, prevented the screen from intermittently operating or not reacting completely . In a notice posted Friday on the company's website about the defective part, Apple also said that the screen could even respond when you do not touch it.

If you have already encountered this problem, Apple encourages you to search for an authorized service provider, make an appointment at an Apple Store, or contact the company's technical support team to evaluate the phone. Apple says that if an iPhone X meets the requirements of the repair program, it will replace the screen for free.

Apple typically offers a simple way to identify if you have the defective part, for example with a range of serial numbers, although this is not the case this time around. Nor did the company give more details on the number of iPhones that could be affected, although no other iPhone model is part of the announced repair program. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday night.

This is not the first time that Apple is offering a repair program for its iPhones. In September, the company said "very small percentage"iPhone 8 devices had faulty logic cards that caused them to restart unexpectedly, freeze the screen or not turn it on at all, and in February the company said"small percentage"iPhone 7 devices contained a defective part that would cause the phone to tell people there was no cellular service when there was one.

The company also announced that it would also offer repairs for "a limited number" of its entry-level products. 13-inch MacBook Pro Models sold between June 2017 and June 2018 may have defective storage chips, called SSDs.

In this case, Apple indicated that users could enter the serial number of their computer in a form on its website to check if they were eligible. If this is the case, the company urges users to have their computers repaired, otherwise the failed component could fail, resulting in data loss.
