Aston Martin confirmed Tuesday that the next luxury SUV will be called the DBX. In addition, Aston gave the public a first look at the first SUV in the history of the company.
The first photos of the DBX show one of his prototypes that cross the Welsh countryside. Unlike GT and sports cars from Aston Martin, the DBX is being built in a new factory in St. Athan Wales, unlike the company's headquarters in Gaydon, England.
"Seeing a prototype DBX development in action is a pivotal chapter in the history of our first SUV because it's the moment it comes to life," said Andy Palmer, president and chief executive officer of the company. Aston Martin Lagonda, in a statement. "DBX is so much more than a simple SUV: it will be the first model built in our brand new St Athan facility."

Aston Martin introduced for the first time in the world the concept of DBX at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in the form of a two-door electric crossover coupe. However, the DBX concept that debuted at the show is nothing like the production car that we will see launch in the fourth quarter of 2019. First, the bodywork of the two-door coupe concept has been replaced by a traditional four-door SUV configuration. .
Although Aston has not yet confirmed the all-terrain vehicle powertrain, it will likely be more conventional than the all-electric unit powered by the concept car. However, it is likely that an EV variant will follow after the initial launch. As much as the factory where the DBX is to be built is the "house of electrification" for Aston Martin.
The official price of the Aston Martin DBX has not been announced. But expect it to sell for around $ 200,000, alongside rivals Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Autobiography and Lamborghini Urus.
