Today, November 16, is the first day of the annual conference. Final Fantasy XIV Naoki Yoshida, director of the game, revealed that the long-awaited new expansion of the game is calling The shadows and will be released in the summer of 2019.
The story of the enlargement will involve your character, the warrior of light, joining six Allied nations in the fight against the Garlean Empire. This battle will force the Warrior of Light to become the Warrior of Darkness – the reason for this important point of the plot will be revealed in Patch 4.5. Rak-Tika Greatwood and Amh Araeng, as well as nine new dungeons and a new series of high-level raids will be part of the expansion.
Speaking of patch 4.5, this will add the Blue Mage job. This is "limited work" because it is not associated with any particular class. The maximum level of the class will be set at level 50, but with the addition of The shadows, the maximum level will increase to 80. The Blue Mage work, presented for the first time in Final Fantasy V, is a role that allows you to use attacks belonging to monsters and enemies against them. The statistics, usage, and power of Blue Mages vary greatly because their performance depends on the abilities they gain from their enemies.
The last major announcement was the revelation of a new race. The new race will be added in The shadows and Yoshida says it's the latest added to the game. That's understandable, as creating and setting up a new race is a difficult task for the team. If this is true, it means that Final Fantasy XIV will have a total of seven playable races starting next summer. They did not specify what the new race will be, but they made it clear that the new race would be the Viera. La Viera is a rabbit breed that was introduced in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Because of their appearance similar to that of a rabbit, Yoshida wore a Bunny Bugs shirt and showed it in a fun way to the public.
