The Windows 10 October update breaks the synchronization of shared albums with iCloud

The major update of October 2018 from Windows 10, the 1809 version of a.k.a turns out to be quite a nightmare, especially for users. Although this is true, Windows 10 version 1809 is probably the worst so far. In addition to the file deletion bug, there was also a ZIP mismanagement bug that also resulted in the disappearance of files. Fortunately, this affected only the testers once Microsoft removed the public server update.

Last week, the software giant republished with confidence the update of October 2018, but it is not out of the woods yet. In fact, there is another bug that, although not so obvious, is in the spotlight because it affects a third-party service, one that comes from Apple. According to the report, Windows 10 version 1809 has an incompatibility with iCloud for Windows version 7.7.0.276 that interrupts synchronization of shared albums. If this had been another service, it could have gone unnoticed.

Microsoft claims to work with Apple to solve the problem, probably with a new version of iCloud for Windows. In the meantime, it prevents Windows 10 computers from updating if iCloud for Windows is installed. Also, if a Windows 10 computer already running version 1809 is trying to install the affected iCloud for Windows version, it will also block this process.

This is not the only blocker of the latest Windows 10 update. To his credit, Microsoft lists these transparently on its support page only for version 1809. That said, the growing list of problems with Compatibility, including for computers with unsupported Radeon graphics cards, does not inspire much confidence in this new release. .
