One of the new handy features launched by Google with Pixel 3 was Call Screen. Now, Google is preparing to solve one of the frustrating aspects of this feature by adding call screen transcripts.
The best gifts for Android users
As noted on Google Support Forums, Call Screen transcripts will be available soon. Many people have publicly complained about the lack of this option for otherwise fantastic functionality. It is good to see that Google listens to the comments of its customers and makes changes accordingly.
Google says that Call Screen transcripts will be activated "later this year" for Pixel owners who use the feature. A comment on the subject indicates that these transcripts will be automatically recorded in the dialer application once the call is complete and will be available for later viewing. Apparently, beta testers from the Google Phone app will support this feature, but others will follow later in the year.
Hey Lon – thanks for your comments. I am happy to confirm that we will be launching a backup for transcription backup later this year. The transcription of the filtered portion of the call will be automatically recorded in your call log once the call is complete. You can access it via the Call details section of an individual call log item. This will be available first for our public beta testers, then for all Pixel 3 users later in the year.
