As for the ports, however, things are a bit different. You'll find the same type of magnetic charge port as other Microsoft devices, which is nice, although we want Microsoft to simply choose the more universal USB-C port. Speaking of USB-C, there is one on the right side of the device, which basically means it has more modern ports than the Surface Pro and the Laptop Surface. Above, there is a headphone jack – thankfully.
The general design of the Surface Go is not bad, but in the era of slimming bezels, it looks slightly dated, especially when you use it in tablet mode. However, the keyboard helps give it a slightly better look and the design does not really affect the power under the hood. The device itself is only available in one color, but you can buy the keyboard in a few different colors, which is nice.
The display on the device is rather nice, but it is not surprising, unlike the display on the Surface Pro or Surface Laptop.
It has a 3: 2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1800 x 1200. This is significantly less than the new 10-inch iPad screen, which displays a resolution of 2048 x 1536. That's not to say that the display is bad – this is not the case. Do not expect to get the best 10-inch tablet screen.
Although it is a Windows 10 device, it runs Windows 10 S rather than Windows 10 Home.

Fortunately, you can switch the device on Windows 10 Home. However, if you decide to do so, keep in mind that items such as battery life and overall performance may suffer a little.
Under the hood, the Surface Go is not bad, but do not expect a power plant.
The base model comes with an Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y dual-core 1.6GHz processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. You can upgrade it from there, up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There are also options for Wi-Fi connectivity only or LTE.
In use, we found that the Surface Go was a very good device. For basic use, it seemed fast and easy to use. Of course, it is important to use the device with moderate expectations – it's not a powerful powerhouse like the new iPad, so do not expect anything other than a basic job, some basic games, etc. Word processing was easy with the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications, and it will be easy for you to keep multiple tabs open in your web browser – which will need to be Edge if you are not going to Windows 10 Home.
The Surface Go also has some accessories, although you have to buy them separately.
The Microsoft Surface Pen also worked very well with the device. If you're a serious artist looking for a digital camera to evolve your art, we recommend the Surface Pro or iPad Pro, more expensive, but the Surface Go is quite capable of some things. In general, the Surface Pen is a great device: it offers 4096 levels of sensitivity, tilt support and more, making it one of the best options for a stylus on a tablet. In the end, many consider the Pencil Pencil as a better option – but for the Apple pencil, you must also buy a much more expensive device.
