New reports suggest Telltale Games and Netflix could soon come together for a multimedia partnership that could lead to Strange things and Black mirror games that touch a console near you in the near future.
A Variety report note that Telltale Games, developer and publisher of episodic games Batman: the inner enemy and Guardians of the Marvel Galaxy, finally looking to exceed his Telltale tool, which he uses on many of his successful games. Although this is a development engine usable for versions like Tales of the border regions and The dead who walk, some fans felt that his home was exhausted, forcing the company to curb growth.
This follows the news that the publisher was working with Netflix on a new Strange things Thu, which was reported earlier this month. As part of the agreement, the company will try the interactive game on its service with Minecraft: story mode, who will be soon. This does not mean that Netflix is getting into the game, but it's a small, interesting experiment that could lead to future versions of Telltale.
This does not seem to be the only property of Netflix to which Telltale is interested. Some clues indicate that he is also working on a new game based on the horror series Black mirror, in the hope of attracting fans of this hit series Netflix. This has not been confirmed yet, but it would be a hell of a ride with episodic stories, that's for sure.
Former Telltale employee Job Stauffer had already mentioned the project, along with creator Charlie Brooker. But again, this is not fully confirmed. Maybe we will hear something in San Diego Comic-Con?
The studio would turn to Unity for these future projects as well as The wolf among us Season 2. The latest game that will use the classic technology of the company will be the last season of The dead who walk, which should begin later this year.
The report states that "a new engine means growing pains. Developers are learning how to manage the workflow by adapting to the new engine. This causes a longer process that Telltale is used to working on. "
