What to expect from the iPhone XS

The time has come: Summer's over and Apple is hosting a launch party to announce new products, the title of which will likely be three new iPhones.

After months of rumors and speculation, Tim Cook and his company will officially release Apple's fall product line on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California.

Ready or not, here's all that Apple is waiting for in a few days.

From new iPhones, to new Apple watches, to new accessories, there will be a lot to ingest and probably something for everyone.

iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max / Plus?

Apple has found itself in an enigma with the iPhone X (pronounced "ten", but most people call it "ex") and it will be interesting to see what they call the high-end iPhones of this year.

Will the refreshed 5.8-inch OLED iPhone be called iPhone XS (report jokes "tennis" and "excess") rumored? What about the biggest iPhone 6.5 inch? XS Plus or, uh, XS Max?

Regardless of the names, these two iPhones will probably be virtually identical except for the size of the screen. We do not expect any major external changes. They must have the same stainless steel frame, the same glass sandwich design, the same notch, the same dual camera configuration at the back and the same stereo speakers.

The interior will be brand new – probably a new A12 processor, up to 256GB of internal storage, perhaps larger batteries (certainly on a larger model), and improved camera performance for front and rear cameras. And maybe the Apple Pencil support?

An alleged press picture also suggests that these two OLED iPhones could come in a new polished gold color.

The current iPhone X costs $ 999 for the 64 GB and $ 1,149 for the 256 GB. Apple could lower the price of the iPhone 5.8 inches updated to less than $ 999 (maybe $ 899 or $ 949) and place the new 6.5 inch for $ 999 or $ 1,149.

iPhone 9?

Both models iPhone XS will be the high-end iPhones and will cost a nice penny. But Apple is waiting to announce another more affordable iPhone.

This "iPhone 9" or "iPhone XR" or "iPhone XC" (honestly, no one else than Apple really knows what it will call) should have a 6.1-inch screen with a notch. The main difference between this iPhone and the iPhone XS will be the technology of the screen – instead of the OLED, the screen will be an LCD screen.

Compared to OLED screens, LCDs are cheaper to produce, which means that the 6.1-inch iPhone will cost less than the 5.8-inch iPhone XS. Analysts predict that this iPhone could cost between 700 and 800 dollars.

According to rumors, this new entry-level iPhone comes in different colors (the tones of rumors are gray, white, blue, red and orange) and has a single rear camera with a relief important enough.

It should also have an aluminum frame instead of stainless steel on high end iPhones. Wireless charging is almost a given since the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus both have it.

Rumor has it that this iPhone might not come with 3D Touch. And you can bet that the headphone jack will not make a comeback.

Apple Watch Series 4

The Apple smartwatch should be upgraded and all rumors suggest a noticeable revision.

With an alleged image released by 9to5Mac, it is firmly believed that the Apple Watch Series 4 will be marketed with the same two sizes of 38 and 42 mm.

OLED screens, however, will be larger and frames will be smaller to have more room to display content.

The case of the watch could also be thinner. And if the image is authentic, it seems that the side button will be longer than the Apple watches of the previous generation and will be haptic rather than mechanical.

It also seems that the big red dot of the digital crown is replaced by a more subtle red ring.

Like Series 3, Apple will likely be offering new Apple watches in Bluetooth and cellular models. And there will probably be new colors and tapes to match.

iOS 12, watchOS 5, macOS Mojave, tvOS 12 release date

Apple has announced iOS 12, watchOS 5, macOS Mojave and tvOS 12 on WWDC with a wave "fall".

Well, autumn is here (technically not until September 21st, but the fall season really begins after Labor Day), and that means all new software is ready to fall. For iOS 12, Apple could release it on September 18th. The last two versions of iOS were launched the following Tuesday after the Apple event. However, in 2015, iOS 9 came out the following Wednesday.

WatchOS and tvOS usually come out the same day as the new version of iOS.

MacOS is a different story and usually comes out the week after iOS. High Sierra was released on Monday, September 25, 2017 and before Sierra departs Tuesday, September 20. If Apple follows the same schedule, we think that MacOS Mojave will be released on September 24th or 25th.

AirPower and AirPods

Can we get a finally? After announcing its 3-in-1 wireless charger for iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPod at last year's iPhone event, Apple will soon deliver it. The big question remains: how much will it cost?

Regarding AirPods – we would like to see an update for them. The current generation of AirPods was launched in late 2016 and a Bloomberg report states that Apple could update genuine wireless headphones with the ability to use a "Hey Siri" voice command to call the company. digital assistant instead of having to press one of the buttons. . It could also come with a new W2 chip.

If AirPower is finally debuting in the real world, Apple will almost certainly launch the wireless charging case for AirPod, which will never be delivered either.

Wild cards

With all the above, it's going to be a stuffed event. However, we would not want to let Apple surprise with "one more thing".

Will we see refreshed iPads with thinner glasses and a face ID? How about this 13-inch MacBook that could replace the old MacBook Air?

A price drop on the HomePod would certainly be good. Can we see a mini HomePod or a Siri powered Beats speaker? New Beats headphones with longer battery life and a new W2 chip?
