OtterBox Samsung Galaxy Note 9: protection against falls in various styles

[ad_1]

here is the Samsung Note 9

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9, see our full review, is one of the best phones for business largely thanks to the S Pen, the big screen, storage and more. Thus, it is perfect for work outside the office, but these big glass sandwiches can also break in case of a fall.

OtterBox offers several options to protect your Note 9 in the form of Defender, Symmetry and Commuter series cases. Over the past two weeks, I've used the Defender and Symmetry models, as well as the Alpha Glass screen protector to keep my new Note 9 in perfect condition.

These OtterBox enclosures are all part of the Designed for Samsung program so you can make sure they fit your device perfectly and have no limitations in functionality.

OtterBox Defender

The OtterBox Defender at $ 59.95 is OtterBox's most protective offer, consisting of three layers to help you in case of an accidental fall. The case features OtterBox Certified Drop + protection, which means that it has passed more than 24 tests over 238 hours. Looking at the list of tests, it is impressive that these cases have been certified.

There are two pieces in the hard plastic inner frame; a dorsal piece that includes all four sides with a soft foam shock layer in the back and a minimal front frame that attaches securely while supporting the dashboard interaction. Once these two pieces are fixed around your Note 9, the outer thick silicone cover fits on the pieces of the plastic frame. This outer layer has port covers for the 3.5mm headphone jack and the USB-C port with raised buttons for volume, power and Bixby.

One thing we have seen recently on some cases Note 9 is the S Pen cover, which protects this area and keeps the S Pen in place, but also makes it a bit awkward for using the S Pen. Fortunately, OtterBox understands the importance of S Pen for Note users, so this domain is open and easily accessible at all times.

There is a very large opening at the back for both cameras, the flash, the sensors and the fingerprint sensor. The case also makes it easier to hit the target of the fingerprint sensor, so I prefer to have Note 9 in a holster for easy unlocking.

Note 9 is very secure in this case and you can be sure that it will protect your phone. There is no screen protection, but if you wish, check out my thoughts below on the OtterBox Alpha Glass protector.

The OtterBox Defender case also includes a case so you can wear your Note 9 to your belt. The hard plastic frame is easy to insert into your Note 9 with a belt clip that opens about an inch to attach to your belt. The belt clip rotates around 360 degrees in 30 degree increments to fit your situation perfectly.

The price is reasonable for such a protective and well designed object. It comes in black, purple nebula and dark lake blue. I've tested black, but I envision a blue to match my 9 blue note.

OtterBox Symmetry Series

OtterBox also shipped three color variants of the Symmetry series, including Ivy Meadow Green, Love Triangle and Clear. OtterBox also features symmetry in black, purplish purplish purple, degraded energy, and star dust. The Energy Gradiant is very elegant and maybe I should try this one someday.

Symmetry cases are priced at $ 49.95, Love Triangle and Gradient Energy suitcases at $ 5 more ($ 54.95) for unique colors.

The Symmetry series enclosures are monoblock enclosures that also meet the OtterBox Certified Drop + protection. Just place your Note 9 in the case and start with a corner to carefully remove it when you want to exit the case.

The back is hard plastic, even transparent, with synthetic rubber on the edges to serve as a bumper for drops and better adhesion. Three of the four corners have hard plastic to protect the device, but one corner with the S Pen is open for easy access and use. The casing is slim with very little extra volume for an excellent level of protection against falls.

Symmetry colored cases, such as the Ivy Meadow Green One, feature synthetic rubber on the back to protect the back of your Note 9 and also offer shock resistance.

There are raised buttons for volume, power and the Bixby with openings for microphones, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port. At the back, there is a large opening for the cameras, the flash, the sensor and the fingerprint sensor.

OtterBox Alpha Glass Screen Protector

There is no screen protection on OtterBox enclosures, so if you want to add protection to the display, you have to add it yourself. I applied an Alpha Glass screen protector to my 9 note, available at a price of $ 44.95.

The Alpha Glass Screen Protector is a tempered glass protector designed for clarity, touch sensitivity, and scratch and scratch resistance. There is a bit of black color at the top and bottom of the pad to match the bevels of note 9 with curved glass on both sides to match note 9.

There are specific instructions for the screen protector, as well as two plastic guides that slide on the top and bottom of the note 9. The application is extremely easy after the application of these two guides and the detachment of the transparent plastic. l & # 39; display. There were no bubbles under the protector and it looks awesome.

After applying the screen protector, I found the screen almost unusable and I was about to remove the protector and throw it away. I then looked at the instructions a bit more and found that there was a setting on note 9 that had to be enabled to use the screen protector. Go to Settings> Advanced Features and enable the Touch Sensitivity option. This feature is specifically designed to increase the touch sensitivity of screen protectors and, after making this change, the screen performance, including with the S Pen, has been irreproachable.

I can not even say that there is a glass screen protector on the phone with the feel perfectly matching the 9 note display and the perfect clarity. In fact, I see less fingerprints on the protector than the glass display, otherwise it is better to have it in place.

The Alpha Glass protector covers the entire visible screen and extends a little on the edges. However, there are still gaps on the screen so you can use cases where the screen protector is applied. I have tried all these OtterBox enclosures, as well as many other cases with the screen protector.
