Apple bored with Beats? AirPods 2 may arrive at the launch of the iPhone, but no new Beats

Apple does not intend to announce new Beats headphones during its iPhone launch on September 12, according to reports. This means that the full year of 2018 could pass without any new product from the world's most iconic helmet brand.

A source speaking to The Verge says there is no evidence that Apple plans to unveil new Powerbeats, BeatsX or Beats Solo products in the near future. Instead, Apple may choose to focus on a new pair of wireless AirPods 2 headphones during its speech on Wednesday.

Apple has spent about $ 3 billion to acquire the headphone giant, he was hardly able to update its products. The last major launch was made in 2016 with the BeatsX collar-based Bluetooth headphones, while the other lines simply received incremental updates.

Other products, such as the Beats Pill speakers, have been completely ignored in favor of the Apple HomePod, which is struggling to impose itself as the AirPods do.

Although the company owns Beats, it seems to be competing with the brand internally. AirPods is pushed to the limit by Apple in its marketing materials, while rumors suggest that the company is developing a pair of boxes on the ear to compete with the Beats Solo offer.

All this leads observers to question Apple's long-term plans for the Beats brand. Although it already has a large share of the market, Apple has decided to use Beats products as a carrot to encourage users to buy new Macs and iPads at the start of the school year. It is also important to remember that the streaming service of Apple Music also derives from the Beats Music service acquired by Apple as part of the purchase from Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. The purchase was therefore far from canceled.

If Apple chooses to launch second-generation AirPods, it's likely they have the wireless charging box, a hands-free Siri, and improved water resistance. We are less than 24 hours to discover for sure.
