Last week in Smash: a hero, a king and a missing day

Since the release of its E3 2018, Nintendo provides daily updates to the Super Smash Bros. website. Ultimate. Hunting projectors, helper trophies, Pokémon, new music and more are at your disposal to prepare for the biggest crossover! Let's see what Nintendo shared during the week of September 2nd:

9/2 – Enter the Radiant Hero, Ike is ready to fight for his friends!

With its old look restored and some new tricks, the very popular Ike is back for a sequel. Handling Ragnell with his enormous strength, Ike is the strongest hit of all Fire Emblem characters. This is done at the expense of speed, betraying its original status for balance and variety here. I would call it a fair trade. It should also be noted that Ike is not satisfied with his Path of Radiance look, but with the Radiant Dawn style that he has played in Smash for 3DS and Wii U, as well as various voice messages!

9/3 – The citizens of Dream Land rejoice, it is the return of King Dedede!

Equal parts, expressive and lazy, dressed to impress in his fur-lined dress and brandishing a hammer bigger than him, it's the only king Dedede! This Kirby pillar may not be the most threatening thing about Pop Star, but it has been equally thorny on one side and a reluctant ally over the years. In Smash, he could be my favorite heavyweight playing through his good recovery and his disjointed moves, but even without that, he remains my favorite among the many kings here to confront him.

9/4 – Fortress Boss theme of Super Mario Bros. 3 brings the battery and the ropes, and the final destination opens the way

This week's music does not come from any Mario game, but from Super Mario Bros. 3. Full of drums, violins and sound effects familiar to the games, this is another energetic track for massive music collection. . This is a suitable treatment for a boss theme like this one and adds some variety to the Mario songs already on offer.

Where there is Smash, there is a final destination one way or another. This time, the brand new look seems to be developing since the last game, with a more distinct central platform that does not lose the brand's flat layout. When you just have to turn off the objects and fight with Fox, this is the only place to go.

9/5 – Alolan Exeggutor pushes (and goes up and up)

The first Alolan Pokémon is here and ready to stretch his neck for better or for worse. Do not get me wrong though: I will take Alolan on Kegen Exeggutor every day. It divides the scene like a wall and this massive palm tree could hold your knockouts as much as it causes them. But hey, just look at those faces! No matter what it causes, it's just happy to be here.

9/6 – The post that has never been

You may notice that we are away from the normal lot of Smash in a week of blog posts. This coincides more than likely with the delay of the Nintendo Direct September 6. No hard confirmation has been given, but to break the structure, this seems to indicate that we will have at least one revelation linked to the Smash each time the Direct will be broadcast. And even if it's not the case, there's always a lot to see from Ultimate to the exit.

That's all for the news of last week! Tell us which article was your favorite this time and expect more updates leading up to the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on December 7th.
