Welcome to your SwitchArcade Roundup conference on September 14, 2018. Phil is here to complete this week of gatherings (so have a "round"). There is so much to read in the news of Nintendo Direct from yesterday. I had to take two days to organize everything AND so much that, on this rare occasion, I do not have a game of the day for you. News and new releases are much more important this time around. this excellent (and definitely not really excellent) news from Nintendo Direct!

New

Special edition switchgear for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been announced

Off the heels Pokemon: Let's go, Pikachu / Let's Go, Eevee Switch bundles, a new special edition Switch console has been announced. The special edition Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Switch with full branding on the dock, Joy-Con controllers and game download code will be launched on November 2nd. Luigi's Mansion 3 (working title) prepares to haunt the Nintendo Switch next year

Like an old friend (who is particularly ghostly and macabre), the Luigi's Mansion the franchise arrives at the Switch with its third installment. Of course, we will get a sample of Luigi's Mansion haunting action when the Nintendo 3DS port of the original Luigi's Mansion next month, but many of us have been looking forward to a third entry. Luigi's Mansion 3, tentatively titled, should be launched in 2019, and that's the way to go for launching yesterday's Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Reveals NES Launch Titles for Nintendo Switch Online and Upcoming Monthly Additions

As stated in the trailer and by Nintendo countless times before the launch of Nintendo Switch Online, those who subscribe to the service will have 20 NES games, some even offering online games. These titles include Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, THE legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Gradius, River City Ransom, Double Dragon, Tecmo Bowl, Balloon fight, and Ghost'n Goblins, among many others.

In October, a trio of games joins the team: Key of Solomon, NES Open Tournament Golf, and Super Dodge Ball. November will see the launches of Metroid, Powerful Bomb Jack, and TwinBee. To end the year, the month of December has a programming of Wario's Woods, Ninja Gaiden, and Adventures of Lolo.

Nintendo Labo: Toy-Con 03 – Vehicle Kit ($ 69.99) – Retail Only

Not many new versions on the SwitchArcade Roundup are only physically available, but obviously with a game like Nintendo Lab: Toy-Con 03 – Vehicle Kit (yes, it's ALWAYS a mouthful), a part of the fun and experience is the very construction of the cardboard controllers used for the game. To make a steering wheel with a pedal that works well for your car, to build a flying stick for your plane, the Vehicle kit allows really ingenious creations. The extra bonus of the actual game is much deeper than the initial batch of Nintendo Labo kits does the Vehicle kit the one I seriously think about getting.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD ($ 17.99 from $ 29.99 until September 20)

That's the type of game I fought with on my iPhone (well, the original Pocket Edition, due to the fact that it is an older iPhone with its own problems, but also because it is not able to fully control the touch controls. I am now looking forward to playing with my favorite input method for these types of games – analog controls. For those of you who may only have a Switch, you can finally see what's going on around you. Final Fantasy XV is all about – albeit a more simplified version, almost Cliff notes of Final Fantasy XV. Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is available today, and is currently being reduced until September 20 for its launch. A reduction of 40%? Niiiiiiiice.

Cities: Skylines – Nintendo Switch Edition ($ 39.99)

We built this city. We built this city on Nin-ten-do !!! Maybe it does not have the same elegance as the original song of Starship, but my words I like as much. In a surprise announcement, the critically acclaimed city building simulator Cities: Skylines arrived yesterday on the Nintendo eShop, allowing the owners of Switch to create and manage their own virtual cities. Although the Nintendo Direct does not show a nice frame rate for the game, it seems that the performance depends on whether you play in an anchored or portable way – the latter may actually seem to work better!

Bastion ($ 14.99)

Bastion This is no stranger to consoles, handhelds and mobile devices. If there is a recent platform on which to wear, you can bet that the much appreciated Bastion come to her. Now, for the first time, a Nintendo system sees the launch of Bastion with the release of the Switch version of the game yesterday. CPR surgeon simulator currently has a launch discount of one week.

Wasteland 2: Cut Director ($ 29.99)

Wasteland 2 did not work well on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It could be said that it was a bit of a performance … wait … a fallow land. (Hey, who threw that rotten tomato on me!?) That said, the turn-based tactical gameplay well received from Wasteland 2: Cut Director perhaps it deserves to be ended by performance problems that may occur on this Nintendo Switch port.
