Nintendo Switch Online is launching this week, Mario's House having launched its first paid online service.
Nintendo Switch Online follows in the footsteps of Xbox Live and PSN and offers players a number of benefits to pay for the online gambling service.
In addition to the main draw – online gaming – Nintendo Switch Online will also offer cloud-backed data backups and exclusive member offers.
Nintendo Switch Online will also be offering members to launch 20 NES games that can be played whenever owners take the console away.
Classic games such as Super Mario Bros 3, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and the original Super Mario Bros will be available.
A number of these NES games can also be played online and other titles will be added regularly to this retro selection of games.
At launch, this retro selection will only include NES titles, but Switch owners will hope timeless games from other consoles will be added.
And that could have been anything but that SNES games will be added to Nintendo Switch Online in the future.
In a Nintendo Direct last week, Ninty revealed more details about Switch Online and unveiled some awesome NES controllers for the hybrid console.
This is only available to those who subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online service while players in Japan will receive Famicom joypads.
As switch owners know, when you associate an officially licensed controller with the console, it displays an icon in some menu screens.
Joy Cons have their own icons that change color according to the design of the pads.
While Switch Pro Controller also has its own icon.
These icons are specific to officially licensed controllers, as third-party accessories do not have their own symbols.
So, for example, 8BitDo makes a selection of retro-inspired controllers for the Switch.
But when a user associates one of his SNES-inspired controllers, he does not display an SNES symbol in the Switch menus, but only a Pro controller.
It is important to note that the data miners have discovered symbols for the new controllers in the next software update of the 6.0.0 switch.
At the end of last month, the data miners discovered that Switch's upcoming 6.0.0 firmware had already been downloaded to the Nintendo server, Nintendo Life reported.
And before the NES and Famicom controllers were officially announced, the data miners found icons for these pads in the 6.0.0 update files.
They also discovered a symbol for how to be an SNES controller.
That could all but confirm that Nintendo plans to launch an official Super Nintendo Switch pad once the SNES games are added to Switch Online.
The Nintendo Switch online service is launched in the UK on Wednesday 19 September.
It will cost you £ 3.49 for one month, £ 6.99 for three months and £ 17.99 for 12 months.
A family subscription is also available with a 12-month subscription for up to eight accounts for £ 31.49.
