Ram may be bringing back a mid-size pickup truck to the US in more ways than one.
Automotive News reports that the automaker will build the newly announced truck along with the Jeep pickup truck at a plant in Toledo, Ohio.
When the plans for the product were unveiled in June, it was first thought that it would be manufactured at a Fiat Chrysler facility in Mexico.
The supplier sources now indicate to the publication that the company will use the additional capacity available on the newly refitted Toledo assembly plant, which produced the latest-generation Jeep Wrangler.
The truck launch schedule also appears to have been postponed to 2021 from the 2022 date suggested at the Fiat Chrysler presentation in June.
Fiat Chrysler would not comment on the details of the report.
The name of the new model has not been revealed, but it will succeed the Dodge / Ram Dakota, built in Warren, Michigan, from 1987 to 2011.
