Ninja will be the first esports player featured on the cover of ESPN magazine – Variety

"Fortnite" Streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins is the first professional esports player to feature on the cover of ESPN The Magazine. The video game-centric edition is on newsstands Friday, September 21st.

Ninja made headlines earlier this year when he played "Fortnite" with rapper Drake. This show has won more than 600,000 simultaneous viewers, establishing a new Twitch recording. Months later, he broke the same record at a charity event in Las Vegas with a simultaneous viewership of 667,000. Last month he also became the first Twitch streamer to reach 10 million followers.

Ninja posted on Twitter Tuesday, he is delighted to be the first professional player to appear on the cover of the magazine. The cover and profile will appear on the sports center Wednesday at 7 am (local time).

The ESPN game number contains a detailed article about Ninja entitled "Living the Stream". In this article, the editor, Elaine Teng, explains how he maintains his lifestyle without interruption.
