We had a hard time not to like the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class 2019, an elegant combination of sedan and sedan that seemed to really improve its game compared to the current family of compact Mercedes. But everyone had a question: where is the AMG version? Apparently, that's it.
The Mercedes A-Class 2019 is a small sedan looking for something new in America
We had a glimpse of the hatchback-shaped Mercedes A-Class 2019 at the beginning of this year, but the US market …

Check out the Mercedes-AMG A35 hatchback 2019, which debuts in a few weeks at the Paris Motor Show, but fled early on the Australian Redline website. It is not confirmed that this is AMG's new official hatch, but these photos, complete with engine shots, seem legitimate.
According to Redline, the smaller AMG gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 300 horsepower. Later, a much hotter version of 400 HP is expected, says the site, which would increase the power of the current A45 and its platform partners, the CLA45 and GLA45.
As with today's compact AMGs, the power goes to all four wheels thanks to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the new A35 AMG should perform zero to 60 seconds in just 4.7 seconds. So, even if you do not accept the hottest version to come, you will gain in speed.
There is a series of interior upgrades compared to the standard car, including AMG sports seats, AMG leather and microfibre steering wheel and metal gearshift paddles.
Unfortunately, we know that the A-Class trap will not come to the United States. But the A-Class sedan arrives here for the very first time, and it will spawn a new CLA and a GLA crossover. I would be willing to guess that some, if not all, of these variants will display AMG variants.
In the meantime, this sounds like a fun addition to the hot hatch world if you can get your hands on it. Expect more when the car breaks down in Paris.
