But Microsoft's explanation regarding this specific failure is different: "Windows Update does not check the space required by the systems before booting it".

To make room for the Microsoft operating system, users must zap temporary files, download and empty the trash, as well as uninstall applications that are not used.
Users should also consider moving photos and other contents to a USB drive or other storage device. Finally, users can save fewer OneDrive files locally on the PC.
Microsoft has provided detailed instructions for performing each of these tasks.
Microsoft will partially automate these applications by improving its Storage Sense application. But that comes with the update of Windows 10 October 2018, so it will not be much help until the new version of the operating system is installed.
Until then, there is now obsolete disk cleaning tool. But owners of 32GB storage devices will likely need to follow the instructions in the Microsoft manual to make room for the next version of Windows 10.
