During Amazon's crazy day, new product announcements, the company also successfully upgraded Ring, the maker of video ringtones acquired by the e-commerce giant earlier this year. Amazon unveiled an update to the Ring Ring Up camera that shows a new camera body and improved video quality.

Under the ownership of Amazon, Ring abandons the square design of its previous model of Stick Up Camera. The new model includes a cylindrical case, which has the same shape as Amazon's popular Echo speaker and the newly announced Echo Sub. It exists in two colors: black or white.

In addition to the change of shape, Ring has also integrated a camera upgrade to the new version of the Stick Up camera. The latest update of the line includes a camera capable of capturing 1080 HD video, an improvement over the 720p resolution of the previous model. The camera has a field of view of 115 degrees horizontally and 65 degrees vertically, which allows it to capture a considerable amount of action. It is also endowed with a night vision function and motion detection that can detect any action, no matter the time of day.

Users will still be able to stream the video in real time from the Ring smartphone app to check everything at home and communicate through two-way audio, but the view will now be in crystal clear HD.

There are two versions of the Ring Ring Up camera: a wired camera connected to a jack and a battery powered option that can be configured in more remote locations. Both can be used in indoor and outdoor settings, but the battery model includes a rechargeable battery pack that can be quickly removed and charged. Amazon has not provided details about the expected battery life of the pack or the time it takes to get a full charge, but this information may apply later.

The Ring Ring Up camera update appears as if it will move to the right and replace the previous model. It has the same price, costing $ 180. The security device is not yet available for sale, but Ring announces that it will begin to be marketed in December.
