Mercedes-Benz confirmed Monday that the new B-Class van will be unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
The B-Class will be the third body of Mercedes' new generation of compact cars, after class A unveiled in February and the A-Class sedan unveiled in April.
Until now, only the A-Class sedan has been confirmed for sale in the United States. It is assembled in a factory in Mexico and will arrive in the exhibition halls at the end of the year as a 2019 model.
We do not expect Class B to be sold here. We received the previous generation in electric form only, but it was discontinued after the 2017 model year. An EQA sedan from Daimler's EQ sub-brand for electric cars will come to term to fill the void.
Mercedes-Benz Class A 2019
Mercedes retains the details of the B-Class until the unveiling in Paris, but says the vehicle looks more dynamic than its predecessor and that it is more agile while offering more comfort and convenience. # 39; space. The vehicle will also feature the dual-screen dashboard design seen in Class A (pictured above) as well as state-of-the-art electronic driving aids.
The vehicle is equipped with the Mercedes MFA2 front wheel drive platform for compact cars. Class B models should include the B200 and B250 variants with 163 and 224 horsepower ratings respectively. There will also be diesel engines and possibly a rechargeable hybrid.
Despite its heavy image, the B-Class is a key model in Mercedes' portfolio, particularly in Europe where its higher seating position attracts older buyers and its spacious cabin for young families. At the Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes-AMG A35 hatchback and GT 43 4-Door Coupe, the new Mercedes-Benz GLE and Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV, as well as a new concept car Smart to celebrate the 20 years of the brand.
