Fujifilm presents the world's first f / 1 lens with autofocus

At its Photokina 2018 presentation, Fujifilm took a moment to add an extreme touch to its X-Mount lens series: the XF33mm F1 R. As its name suggests, this lens is equivalent to 33mm. and Autofocus, making it a first of its kind. Fujifilm did not set a price or release date on the lens, but said it was working on its commercialization. The company's roadmaps for this summer show the release of this goal in 2020.

Fujifilm offers a wide selection of very good lenses for its family of X cameras, and this portfolio already includes several f / 1.4 wide-angle lenses. In my experience with these, bokeh is so diffuse and indefinite that it stops looking like a bokeh. Opening the opening even further at f / 1 will absorb much more light, while pushing the rear blur on a few notches. This will make the new X-Mount lens a niche creative tool. But with so many months to wait for its release, we should all be able to think about its uses.
