Since Destiny 2: Abandoned Launched on September 4, 2018, the game has been a whirlwind of uninterrupted content and things to do, to the point that even the most demanding players can not handle everything. This week has brought even more new things to do for homeowners Abandoned expansion, but it also marks the arrival of the free update Crucible for all Destiny 2 players, regardless of the property of the expansion.
This PvP update brings a new Destiny 2 Crucible mode called Breakthrough, which pits eight players against each other in a 4v4 match to capture a central point and then push a payload on the side of the opponent. The main objective is a checkpoint in the center of the zone, in which players face each other in a king-of-the-hill battle. Once a team succeeds in capturing it, it must move the circuit breaker to hack the trunk of the opposing team in order to win the game. For this week, Breakthrough will have its own unique play list, and next week it will be added to the rotation of the competitive crucible playlist.
With Breakthrough, three new cards (four, including the exclusive PlayStation card) have been designed for this new game mode. The Citadel is a dream city map that takes players to the Awakened homeland for them to enjoy. 39; meet. Equinox goes back to the bizarre kingdom of the Nine. And Firebase Echo is an abandoned base of the Red Legion on Nessus, and an interesting combination of Cabal in a Vex environment (in some ways a nice reminder to Mars of Destiny 1).
The exclusive PlayStation Crucible Card is on the tangled shoreline, with treacherous pits scattered throughout the environment that make environmental awareness as important as fighting your foes. This card is exclusive to PS4 Destiny 2 players until at least the autumn of 2019.
Breakthrough and the new Crucible cards are available now, free for all Destiny 2 players. Destiny 2 is currently free with PlayStation Plus, so if you want to try new content, be sure to download the game by the end of September. Check out some screens of new maps and mode in the gallery below.
