We're still a few weeks away from Google's upcoming Pixel 3 event, but there's still time for some extra leaks. The latest news today? A rendering of the Pixel Stand wireless charger that was spotted last week in a Google app animation, via MySmartPrice.
As the MySmartPrice photo shows, the stand seems to be powered by USB-C. Assuming that the nominal voltage and current on the bottom are accurate, the Pixel Support would offer up to 18 W of power, which is more than enough for a fast wireless charge. There is a chance that the image is simply a model based on last week's leak, but I hope it's real. Between the support of the USB-C, the scalable fast charge and the rather attractive orange accents, the Pixel Stand seems to be a really great wireless charger (assuming the price is right).
The previous leak seemed to indicate that Google will add software features for the dock, such as displaying photos as an ad hoc photo frame, offering extensive notifications and allowing users to use Google Assistant without having to unlock your phone. a Google Home thumbnail.
We'll probably learn more when Google announces the Pixel booth at its Oct. 9 event (or when the next batch of photos are flowing, whichever comes first).
